Here’s a great easy to make recipe to make Weetabix cake. This cake is made from one of the nations favourite cereals and we’re sure your kids will love it.

Here’s a great and tasty recipe you can bake up with your kids on a rainy or cold day. We’re sure all the family will love this Weetabix cake. With lots of juicy sultanas and mixed spices, you can turn this breakfast cereal into a nice treat. It’s simple, quick to make and it goes very nicely with a scoop of your favourite ice cream.

Ingredients to make your cake

  • 2 Weetabix
  • 110g sultanas
  • 150ml milk
  • 150ml water
  • 110g self-raising flour
  • 1 teaspoon mixed spice
  • 15g sugar (or sweetener)
  • 1 egg, beaten

You can use any other dried fruit in place of the sultanas.

How to make Weetabix cake.

Time needed: 1 hour and 15 minutes

Steps to make your cake

  1. Preheat your oven

    Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C Fan/Gas Mark 4.

  2. Add the contents to a bowl

    Put the Weetabix and sultanas in a bowl. Pour the milk and water over the top and leave to soak up all the liquid

  3. Mix it up

    Stir in the flour, mixed spice, sugar and beaten egg.

  4. Add mixture to a baking tin

    Spoon the mixture into a 450g lined loaf tin and bake in the preheated oven for 1¼ hours until cooked.

  5. Cool

    Cool on a wire rack before serving then cut into 12 slices.
